PLANO, TEXAS – Oct. 27, 2020 – Global Media Outreach – the world’s leader in online evangelism – is forming a strategic alliance with Journeys with the Messiah to turn attention to the U.S., by creating Something Better, an innovative digital campaign reaching more than 150 million Americans with the Gospel message.
“2020 has dealt one devastating blow after another,” said Global Media Outreach Founder and Chairman Walt Wilson. “Between COVID, social unrest, financial fallout and natural disasters, Americans are weary and looking for hope. We have combined Global Media Outreach’s extensive experience in online evangelism with the striking photography of Michael Belk to show our fellow countrymen that Jesus has Something Better for them.”
Wilson cut his technological teeth through a 45-year career in Silicon Valley including serving as Apple’s first head of operations. Since he founded Global Media Outreach in 2004, the internet ministry pioneer has touched lives in every country on earth presenting the gospel over 2 billion times (an average of 350,000 times a day) and seeing 223 million decisions for Christ to date.
Internationally renowned fashion photographer Michael Belk founded Journeys with the Messiah in 2008, using his creative and technical skill to produce and distribute striking photographs of the 1st century Jesus interacting with 21st century people.
“It’s our prayer that the photographs ignite a passion in viewers to enter into a deeper relationship with Jesus,” Belk said.
The images will get the chance to do that for millions of people through the Something Better platform that will deploy a variety of materials along with the photographs through:
- Multiple topical web sites
- Cell phone networks
- The Internet
- Social Media
- and in English and Spanish
Global Media Outreach employs emerging technology created for business to reach people through social media, email, online advertisements, voice technology and a proprietary, secure messaging system.
Americans responding to this unique combination of art and technology will receive support to grow in their faith and will be connected to the Christian community.
“There are 300 million cell phones in the U.S., and we expect to share a message through at least half of them,” said Randy Valentine, Chief Marketing Officer of Global Media Outreach. “We could see 30 million decisions for Christ, and that does not include outreach through desktops, laptops, pads, print media and social networks.”
Those indicating a faith decision access Bible study and discipleship material online and enjoy connection to one of the organization’s 3,500 online missionaries – 1,500 in the U.S. and 2,000 international volunteers who speak 50 different languages – who answer questions, pray for and guide new and recommitting believers on their spiritual journey through a safe and anonymous system.
