What’s In The Bible? In The Beginning
“Most Americans probably think the Bible is long, dull and irrelevant. We’re showing them that it IS in fact very long, only SOME parts are dull, and NONE of it is irrelevant!”
Phil Vischer, creator of VeggieTales and now What’s in the Bible?
What’s in the Bible? is the irresistible new 13-DVD series from VeggieTales’ creator Phil Visher—focused on the bible and its themes (as opposed to bible stories), and for slightly older kids. “Small kids cut their teeth on VeggieTales bible stories,” Visher said. “I also want to give kids, getting just a little older, the fundamentals of Christianity.”
Enter Buck Denver, Man of News! British explorers Clive and Ian. The Sunday School Lady and her flannelgraph. Michael, the backseat DVD enthusiast. Country singer Chuck Wagon. In a wacky, wonderful, wild theme-park ride of a 22-minute (ish) show—predictably Visher-esque—kids learn the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, from original sin to grace and redemption, and from a lot of crazy puppets.
DVDs one, two, and three: “In the Beginning,” “Let My People Go,” and “Love and Obey.”
And the thing is, they work. Families watch. Everyone laughs. Learning happens. “Above all,” Phil says, “we remind kids often how special they are and how much God loves them.”
