SIGHT & SOUND THEATRES® TO BRING ‘QUEEN ESTHER’ TO LIFE ON STAGE IN 2020

LANCASTER, Pa. – Sight & Sound Theatres, which draws nearly 1.5 million people each year to its epic biblical dramas, announces its next brand new original stage production for 2020—QUEEN ESTHER.
“Esther is one of the most riveting stories in the Bible,” said Sight & Sound Chief Creative Officer Josh Enck, who serves as Executive Producer of QUEEN ESTHER. “To see it come to life in all its majesty on our grand stage is going to be magnificent.” QUEEN ESTHER will premiere at Sight & Sound’s state-of-the-art 2,000-seat theater in Lancaster, PA, where audiences will be transported into the powerful Persian Empire and its opulent royal palace. The beauty and grandeur of the capital city of Susa will come to life as the production takes place on a 300-foot panoramic stage that engulfs the audience on three sides. QUEEN ESTHER will feature Sight & Sound’s signature lavish costumes, massive sets, stunning visuals, talented cast, soaring musical score and dozens of live animals. Synopsis Experience one of the most riveting Bible stories of the Old Testament as it comes to life with magnificent sets, special effects and live animals in this brand-new, original stage production from Sight & Sound Theatres. QUEEN ESTHER is produced and written by Sight & Sound team members Dan Deal and Kristen Brewer. QUEEN ESTHER marks Sight & Sound’s 34th original production, and will premiere in its 44th year of bringing the Bible to life on stage. The record-breaking JESUS continues its run in Lancaster through Jan. 5, 2019, then resumes March 9 through Oct. 5, 2019.
